Hi,

We've noticed that there is a new "Power Type" of "EU" in the JSON schedule files since the 18th August. Is this expected as it's not mentioned in the documentation listed at http://nrodwiki.rockshore.net/index.php/CIF_Codes#Power_Type What does the power type EU define?

Taking the example line from the JSON file below it matches the train https://www.opentraintimes.com/schedule/V04835/2016-08-24 which is a test train. Are there any more details about these test trains?

I’m not entirely sure - it might be an IEP.

The schedule train service code 25508006, which is GWR Paddington - Greenford services. I’m not certain that there’s overhead wires all the way to Greenford.

Hi,

The power type "EU" is listed in the May 2016 Train Planning Data (http://nrodwiki.rockshore.net/index.php/Reference_Data#Train_Planning_Data) as meaning "387-D 90".
This entry is next to two other Class 387 entries which in full are:

873: TLD A 387        90   387-D 90  EU    90
874: TLD A 387       100   387 100 EMU   100
875: TLD A 387       110   387 110 EMU   110

"EU" just looks like a typo of "EMU".

Hi Peter and Cameron,

Thanks for the pointers, particularly that it’s included in the reference data.

Would there be a way to have a canonical url for the latest version of the data so that an automated process can pick up the changes to the reference data without human intervention? Seems that it is quite difficult within MediaWiki to have a wiki page which redirects the latest version of the file.

Hi Shaun

Not easily, but the BPLAN data is only updated periodically so it shouldn't be too difficult to visit the site a couple of times a year.
