Help for Installating OpenQuake

Hi,
I am a seismologist who would like to installe and work with OQ.
Please give me some advises, I read all instructions on the web site but not sure it is clear.
I would like to instal in my PC machine.
I have Linus environnement with Debian 8 (I think it is ok for Unbutu).
I have an account sudo. 

Can I started just using in the terminal  "sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:openquake/ppa"

I just would like some advises before starting.
