Dear Developers,

I am using Openquake version 0.9.2 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I accepted the latest update maybe on 5th May, 2013. Ever since the update, I have a problem running a few seismic source model files in ePSHA, which I am pretty sure were working yesterday. I have the following error:

File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/celery/execute/trace.py", line 47, in trace
    return cls(states.SUCCESS, retval=fun(*args, **kwargs))

I am not sure how to debug this error. Also I have attached the seismic source file with this post in case you would like to recreate the error. Please advice.

Thank you for your assistance,

Peace,
Sriram

Hi Sriram,

Can you post your job.ini file? There are some a few important parameters that we'll need to pinpoint the issue (such as `rupture_mesh_spacing`).

Thanks,
Lars

Hi Sriram,

This will take some investigation. Would you mind filing a bug report on https://launchpad.net/oq-engine? That would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Lars

Hi Lars,

I am working with Prof Marco for towards my master's thesis. I will discuss this problem with him first and see if it is some modelling error then will post a bug report. Thank you for the suggestion.

Peace,
Sriram

Hi Sriram,

Regardless of whether it is a modeling error or a bug the engine, oq-engine should be able to display a more useful error message in this case. At the very least, the software should report the name and id of the source which produced these errors, to aid in debugging. That's why I encouraged you file a bug report. =)

Cheers,
Lars

Hi Lars,

The error is in the model and is now corrected. Still I will post a bug report regarding this, always happy to contribute.

Thank you,

Peace,
Sriram
