Hi everyone,

There are now automatically built binaries and installers for OpenPnP available at http://openpnp.org/downloads.

These installers are built automatically anytime a new checkin is done to the develop or master branch. I intend for master to be pretty stable, and it has been updated tonight, and develop to be, well, develop.

I have only fully tested the Mac installers, but the rest are based on the installers I released quite a while back and folks did some testing on those. I have also added new installers for Linux in various flavors.

I'd very much appreciate any feedback you all have regarding the installers. If you decide to try one please let me know what platform or file you used and if it worked okay.

My hope is that this will help the folks who want to explore OpenPnP but aren't developers get involved in the discussion.

Thanks,
Jason

fantastic, I am currently being yelled at for never actually getting this setup like I promised to weeks ago, a big part of the problem is i was only ever able to succesffully build it once, and never got it to work on windows.  I will let you know how it goes over the week, as well as the manual quality!

I have just downloaded the developer version for Linux, but when I try to run it with OpenPnP script, the script returns without showing anything.

Trying to execute with:
> java -jar openpnp-gui-0.0.1-alpha-SNAPSHOT.jar

There is the following error:

java.lang.ClassCastException: javax.swing.tree.DefaultMutableTreeNode cannot be cast to org.openpnp.gui.MachineSetupPanel$PropertySheetHolderTreeNode
    at org.openpnp.gui.MachineSetupPanel$5.getTreeCellRendererComponent(MachineSetupPanel.java:280)
    at javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicTreeUI$NodeDimensionsHandler.getNodeDimensions(BasicTreeUI.java:2806)
    .......

I have Oracle Java 7 installed in my machine:
> java -version
java version "1.7.0_80"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_80-b15)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.80-b11, mixed mode)

Is there a bug in the code or I'm doing something wrong?

Thanks

Daniel

Hi Jose,

That looks like a bug. Had you configured anything in your machine.xml yet, or was it a completely fresh, first time install?

Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason,

Thanks a lot,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Okay, thanks for the information. I will try to replicate the problem this weekend and let you know what I find. OpenPnP doesn't get much testing in Linux, so it's possible this is just something I haven't seen before.

Stand by...

Jason

same for me, i had to remove nu.pattern lib call and replace it with local maven repostory of locally installed opencv version with apt-get install .
Then it worked for me.
Just tested the installer, problem is at least for me the precompiled opencv lib. Bugreport and issue was alredy filled.
