OpenOLAT 10.2 released

Dear OpenOLAT community

The OpenOLAT 10.2 release is an iterative evolution of the 10.0 release and contains all 9.0.x to 9.4.x and 10.0 to 10.2.x bugfix packages, you can download it from here: http://www.openolat.org/downloads.html

OpenOLAT 10.2 introduces a brand new e-assessment mode for courses. Using the assessment mode tool course administrators can setup controlled e-assessment setups in which the functionality and navigation in OpenOLAT is limited. In addition, such e-assessments can be configured to be usable only within a certain IP range or when using the Save Exam Browser with a valid configuration. The great thing about this e-assessment mode is that it is not limited to online-tests. You could also create e-assessment scenarios using the task element, a SCORM module or a specifically developed external system using the LTI 1.1 API. Using the Save Exam Browser feature authors can configure which features of the operating system are accessible during the exam. For example access to other websites, the local file finder/explorer or the access to the USB drive can be blocked. The 10.2 release does also add many other smaller features such as posterframe support for videos and fixes issues in the area of security, performance and stability.

OpenOLAT 10.2 is the best and most secure OpenOLAT release yet and we recommend installing it as soon as possible for all OLAT and OpenOLAT users.

If you rather prefer cloning from the repository, make sure you clone from the 10.2 maintenance repository and not from default: http://hg.openolat.org/openolat102
