Dear members of the OpenIntents project,

a couple of people are currently working on an API that exposes OpenPGP
functionality like encrypt, decrypt, sign, and verify.
The idea is to define an interface that can be implemented by anybody on
both the service provider and consumer side, i.e. it's not bound to a
specific app.

For this I'd like to ask permission to use the "org.openintents.openpgp"
namespace.

A first implementation of the (non-final) API along with a bit of
documentation can be found in the OpenPGP Keychain repository [1]. The
Guardian Project is also interested in adding support to their GnuPG
port [2]. K-9 Mail [3] will support this API, too. We hope many apps
will follow.

If you wish to join the technical discussion please check out [4] and [5].

Best,
cketti
