Hi All,

We at OpenElections are looking for a developer to help our project leads Derek Willis and Serdar Tumgoren create scrapers to acquire historical local and federal elections data in each state. Details are below. Contact me if interested, or pass along to anyone who you think might be a good fit.

Thank you,

Sara

The OpenElections Project is looking for a part-time Python programmer to help our Knight-funded effort to liberate election data from across the country. The role involves:

* Writing code to obtain, transform and output election results data in different formats
* Helping volunteer coders integrate their work into our data processing system
* Work with the core team to extend/refine the data processing system
* Help build a website to provide easy access to data for the public

The ideal candidate will have solid Python programming chops, experience with MongoDB and an interest in open data. Front-end coding skills are a bonus. This is a part-time, contract position with a target of 15-20 hours per week. Hourly fee is commensurate with experience.

If interested, please contact Sara Schnadt sschnadt.projects@gmail.com.
