Just a quick shout out about two events the Open Rights Group are putting on
that may be of interest.

Firstly, if you have a child in education or know someone who does,
DefendDigitalMe are giving a talk on the National Pupil Database -
which sounds a bit like care.data but for children in schools.
The talk is free, and starts at half 6 on the 1st of March in SpacePortX :
https://www.meetup.com/ORG-Manchester/events/237374597/

Secondly, the council are hosting a day of events under the banner "Data
Smart" - there are events on Wikidata hacking as well as a full blown CryptoParty
and we'll even feed you lunch !
That's on Friday 17th March and the days starts at 10am in the Central
Libraries' Performance Space. The day is free, but you should get a ticket
ahead of time in case we run out of room. The CryptoParty link is:

See you there ?

Tom
