Updates and Action Items for Upcoming Hack-a-thon

Hello Everyone,

We are about two weeks away from the hack-a-thon! While there is still plenty to do I wanted to start by thanking everyone for their hard work. This event would not be possible without all your hard work. Here are a couple action items for this week. If you can think of other major tasks go ahead and reply to this thread with them. See you all tomorrow!

Sponsorship

1. I've created some basic sponsorship packages for everyone to review. I need your comments on both the sponsorship and prize packages listed at here by the end of the day. I would be most interested to hear your thoughts about the funding level for each package and the prizes being offered.
2. I also created a basic sponsorship email template. Please review the template and let me know your thoughts. I then need each person to go to the sponsors list and put their name by the sponsor they will contact and use this sponsorship email template when contacting them. Also I need someone to take on being the main contact for the sponsorship inquires. Your name will be listed in the email as the main contact in the sponsorship email.

Marketing

1. It is time to focus hard on marketing the event. We now have the draft press release with the quote from the Mayor which you can review here. During one of our meetings someone mentioned that they had a media contact list we could use when sending out the press release. If you were the one with the list could you chime into this thread, otherwise we will need to recreate such a list at tomorrow's meeting. I need you to review the release and be prepared with ideas for changes for tomorrow's meeting. Speaking of tomorrow.....

Weekly MeetUp

1. We had discussed changing our MeetUp date to a different day at our last couple meetings. I need you to provide your day preference on this doodle poll http://doodle.com/4ffu8agbh3p3a6dm before tomorrow's meeting.
2. While you are at it could you also go to our MeetUp page and RSVP to tomorrow's meeting? We just need two more new RSVP's to beat out Chicago's MeetUp but will have to beat Detriot before we can show up on Code for America's MeetUp everywhere page.
