Badge Followers,

As you have likely seen on the events calendar, this week, we have two calls on the docket this week. On Tuesday the Higher Ed Working Group has scheduled Ian O'Byrne this week to talk about badges + blockchains. On Wednesday, Carl Nestor will join us to talk about Badgesoup, a tool to design badge artwork.

Open Badges Community Call: Wednesday, 9 March at 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 4pm GMT (UTC)

Agenda:

  • Badgesoup: Digital art for badge systems
Carl Nestor from Badgesoup will introduce this product, which is a badge-specific online image editor. There are free and paid options including custom artwork from a designer. From Carl: "
I know that on many of your BadgeAlliance webinars, people talk about the difficulties involved with making badge artwork. I built BadgeSoup so that anyone (a single person, a small organization, or a major corporation) would be able to create dynamic badge artwork at a reasonable price. I feel strongly that good badge artwork creates a positive professional first impression.

See you soon!

Remember, these call series follow US Daylight Saving Time, which is now in effect. Some other countries around the world that also follow a northern hemisphere DST have not yet made the switch, so these calls may not appear in their usual timeslot in your timezone. This year we will collect feedback on whether for 2017, our calls should be pinned to UTC instead of US Time. Provide your comments through all the usual channels. The call times will always be up to date in the Badge Alliance Events Calendar, so remember to subscribe!
