Hello to folks interested in Open Badges Taxonomies,
We are scheduled to meet this Thursday but unfortunately I have some work travels this week and can’t make it. My apologies. I realize this is the second one in a row that I’ve been unable to make and it’s caused me to pause on my availability to hold the meetings and how I still think taxonomies are a critical need for Open Badges.
Doug Belshaw made a good point in one of our calls that there are really two aspects of this work: technology and content. My focus has been on the technology and the implementation. I have on my to do list to work on an example implementation of a taxonomy extension as well as a diagram explaining how the concept of multiple taxonomies applies to the ecosystem. I will continue to work towards this. I’m wondering if someone more knowledgeable than me the realm of content and/or someone who also sees this as a critical need and has the time capacity would like to co-lead the discussions going forward. This way I can focus on planning and presenting the implementation and the conversations can continue about the best way to adapt content to the extensions. I can assist in lining up speakers working on existing frameworks who have expressed interest in applying them to Badges.
Here you will find our discussions to date:

Please drop me a line if this interest you. It’s a great opportunity to team up and engage with a fascinating group of people looking ahead for Badges.
Thanks,
Kerri
