Greetings Open Education Friends:

The 2nd World Open Educational Resources (OER) Congress is scheduled to be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 18–20 September 2017: http://www.oercongress.org

As the Congress will be able to host only around 600 delegates, representatives of Government, NGOs, educators, experts, academia and industry, there is a need to create equal opportunities for those who cannot join others in Ljubljana and empower the OER community and every Member State citizen around the world to be part of the OER Congress.

For this purpose, the Government of Slovenia will engage with its multimedia stakeholders VideoLectures.Net, MiTeam and Ministry of Education and other press partners to produce a virtual experience of the event via the Virtual OER Congress (http://www.oercongress.org/vico/).

All involved, remote and room participants, speakers and exhibitors will be able to access online materials, share content, information on satellite events, sessions, documents and their key areas of interest in their profiles.

Much of the Congress will be live streamed (specifically the main Congress sessions: http://www.oercongress.org/draft-programme/), and the Slovenian hosts also plan on pulling speakers, rapporteurs, satellite organizers and speakers to give interviews, etc, so hopefully a full semi-TV live programme will be made available. The streaming agenda follows the main congress agenda.

The platform will be available until the end of 2017 and all registered participants will be able to share experiences, documents, discussions after the congress.

Registration at Virtual OER Congress:

I hope to see many of you in Slovenia ... and many more online!

Your colleague and friend,

Cable
