How to grid the map and gather the number of neighbors in curent grid ( omnet++ & veins)

how can i gather the number of RSUs and parked cars and store them for comparing that witch of certain cars or RSUs matches the existing information i already have (in omnet++ & veien )

i need to send beacon packets to know such nodes and for that i set the omnet.ine file to:

*.node[*].appl.sendBeacons = true 

should i change the following method from TraCIDemo11p.cc too?

void TraCIDemo11p::onBeacon(WaveShortMessage* wsm) {
}

i want to find vehicles between sender and receiver vehicle,do you know how can i calculate neighbor vehicles ?(vehicle between sender and receive)
