Dear Everyone,

First of all, I am really grateful for your responses in advance.I am a beginner but I have some good knowledge of omnet++.I have learnt about omnet++ in my class and I could do some simple networks in it. it was really nice till the complication of big modules made me go crazy. I have come across ns3 but I really do not want to go for ns3 since i do have the basics in omnet++.

I am supposed to create some modules of MPTCP but honestly i have no idea how to do it.

Any advice how to be able to modify the code of tcp to get MPTCP out of tcp.

any suggestions, I really appreciate.

thanks everyone.
Salah

Download INET and take a look at the src/transport/tcp and src/transport/tcp_common directories. The TCP implementation in INET is pretty mature and well designed. You can install different algorithms without modifying the base code at all.

I would suggest to start from that code. I've never heard about MPTCP before, but wikpedia suggests it is a drop in replacement for TCP so the interfaces towards the app layer and the IP layer should remain the same. This means that you just have to modify the C++ code of the TCP implementation. No new NED modules or anything complicated.

Hi Salah,

Have you completed to simulate MPTCP with Omnet++? I am interested in this field and need your suggestion.

Thanks
Harry,
