Dear all,

just a FYI in case you ever run into the same error.

I tried launching OMNeT++ 4.1rc1 on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2
(5.2.3790), but double-clicking on mingwenv.cmd just gave me a window
that immediately closed.

Manually launching omnetpp-4.1rc1/msys/bin/sh.exe resulted in an error
message like "Couldn't reserve space for cygwin's heap".

Now I realize that this is a common problem of MSYS, but I feel like it
took me a little bit too long to find the right command to fix it, which
is why I'm re-posting it here:

cd omnetpp-4.1rc1/msys/bin
rebase -b 0x30000000 msys-1.0.dll

Cheers,

Christoph

rebase.exe should in the directory

tools/win32/usr/bin

At least in the versions 5.0 and 4.6. In the version 4.4 I can’t not find the program

You should change to version 4.6

Asunto: Re: [Omnetpp-l] OMNeT++ 4.1rc1 on Windows - "Couldn't reserve space for cygwin's heap"

Dear Christoph,

                      I have an error while using my previous veins project using omnet4.4 in windows 10.

The error is as follows when I run MINGW32  :

m.AllocationBase 0x0, m.BaseAddress 0x60E90000, m.RegionSize 0x170000, m.State 0x10000

d:\Simulation\omnetpp-4.4\msys\bin\mkdir.exe: *** Couldn't reserve space for cygwin's heap (0x60E90000 <0x25D0000>) in child, Win32 error 0

I tried the suggestion you provided but I got errors. I tired several ways to tackle this error but invain.

The error is as given below:

IT@DESKTOP ~/msys/bin

$ rebase.exe -b 0x50000000 msys-1.0.dll

sh: rebase.exe: command not found

Can you give some suggestion on this error.

Thank yoiu.
