It looks like someone has the SmartThings hub running at the Makery. Who is the primary account holder?

I think Brandon set it up, he may have the details.

We should look at using it with IFTTT to do something.

You can read about what their technology does:

And you can see some IFTTT recipes here:

Thanks!

I'd like to please learn more about smartThings from people who have actually used them here in Omaha.

Thanks!

What do you want to know?

I helped set up the things running at OMG. It's a polished, end-user-ready system. You plug it in and follow the instructions. Sensors like motion detectors, key fob proximity detectors, and door sensors send events to their cloud service, and you set up scripts to respond in ways you like.

I use it at home and really like the automation it brings. No more light left on all night and if the garage doors are left open too long or at 10pm I get notified and can close them remotely.

OMG has a presence sensor, 2 doors sensors, and a motion sensor. One of the door sensors is on the front door and the second can be added to the garage door to know if it is open or closed. I think the thermostat can be connected and controlled as well, but I need to get the model number.

Arduino can also be connected, but I haven't tried that yet.

By connecting IFTTT to it, notifications of doors opening or motion could be generated through email or twitter.
