First let me apologize to OMG for this being a bit off topic but since I contribute to OMG and believe in it, I thought you should know about my resignation.

It seems off topic.

Perhaps you should have volunteered to create a volunteer orientation program given that, as a volunteer, you saw the need and this seems, as you describe, to be an understaffed organization in great need of volunteers.  Instead of taking the task in front of you and running with it - you seem to want to...  what?  rake muck?

The deal with Metro/NOAA seems like you brought politics, of whatever stripe, to a non-profit, non-political organization.  Which seems dumb. 

And now, with this rant and active media outreach, you seem whiny and self-promotional.

Do Space, like OMG, has a 3D printers and laser cutter. In part, that is how I arrived at OMG.

As for the rest of your suggestions, you are merely attacking the messenger, not the message.

As NOAA, they were invited in by MCC and that causes an issue in and of itself.
