While there wasn't much in the way of water damage (what with everything on benches and carts and a concrete floor), the water control team did quite a number on the benches and general cleanliness of the main room. At the very least, everything needs shuffled back into its place, and at best we'd take this opportunity to do some cleaning.
In light of that, we'll be having an impromptu cleanup night on Thursday. As usual, doors open at 5. Major tasks include: cleanup of absorbent, surface santization, discarding of any damaged materials (mostly in the "materials corner", there were a few things on the floor that need gone through) and putting everything back in its place.
I'm fully aware that this isn't how anyone wants to spend their evening, but it really is a case of "many hands make light work". It's been said many times over the years that the generosity of our members (not only financially, but in terms of volunteerism) is what sets OMG apart from other community groups, and I really believe that it's true. To that end, I'd like to ask everyone who can to help out on Thursday, even if it's just for a bit. Of particular assistance would be anyone interested in taking home any long-abandoned projects that they might have stored at the space.
Thanks again to everyone for their continued support. Quite literally, you all make the Omaha Maker Group the most excellent makerspace that it is.
