Bob Stoops: Alvarez, Sanchez Both Doubtful Against Iowa State Posted: 03 Nov 2015 03:03 PM PST Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said Monday that starting left guard Jonathan Alvarez and cornerback Zack Sanchez are both doubtful for Saturday's game against Iowa State. Alvarez was injured in last week's 62-7 win at Kansas. Stoops said after the game that he could have returned to action but coaches didn't want to risk it. Read More »

Ty Darlington Named Wuerffel Trophy Semifinalist Posted: 03 Nov 2015 01:05 PM PST University of Oklahoma center Ty Darlington on Tuesday was announced as one of eight semifinalists for the 2015 Wuerffel Trophy, known as "College Football's Premier Award for Community Service" and given annually by the All-Sports Association in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Darlington, who just last week was awarded an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship for being named one of 12 finalists for the William V. Campbell Trophy (awarded to college football's best scholar-athlete), has made 21 career starts, graduated from OU in two-and-a-half years with a 3.91 GPA in Arts and Sciences Planned Program (Health Promotion emphasis) and is working on his master's in Adult and Higher Education (Intercollegiate Athletics Administration emphasis). This was where he won his first PGA Tour event in 2008, when he was fearless, brash and backed it all up with an exciting brand of golf.
