Bob Stoops: Alvarez, Sanchez Both Doubtful Against Iowa State

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said Monday that starting left guard Jonathan Alvarez and cornerback Zack Sanchez are both doubtful for Saturday's game against Iowa State.

Alvarez was injured in last week's 62-7 win at Kansas. Stoops said after the game that he could have returned to action but coaches didn't want to risk it.

Ty Darlington Named Wuerffel Trophy Semifinalist

University of Oklahoma center Ty Darlington on Tuesday was announced as one of eight semifinalists for the 2015 Wuerffel Trophy, known as "College Football's Premier Award for Community Service" and given annually by the All-Sports Association in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

Darlington, who just last week was awarded an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship for being named one of 12 finalists for the William V. Campbell Trophy (awarded to college football's best scholar-athlete), has made 21 career starts, graduated from OU in two-and-a-half years with a 3.91 GPA in Arts and Sciences Planned Program (Health Promotion emphasis) and is working on his master's in Adult and Higher Education (Intercollegiate Athletics Administration emphasis).

A statue of Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops was spotted in Norman.

The statue was being hauled on the back of a truck down Lindsey Street near the OU campus.

Former OU Golfer Anthony Kim: "Golf is a fond memory"

Former Oklahoma golfer Anthony Kim was tired of whispers on the PGA Tour about what was wrong with him and his game, so he found a patch of grass behind a row of trees down from the practice range at Quail Hollow and hit balls for two hours.

This was where he won his first PGA Tour event in 2008, when he was fearless, brash and backed it all up with an exciting brand of golf. He ended that year by demolishing Sergio Garcia in the leadoff singles match at the Ryder Cup, the last time the Americans won.
