Hello everyone,

I want to use NS-3 to  simulate a scenery in which 802.11 PSM(Power Saving Mode) is enabled, does NS-3 support the Power Saving Mode in 802.11 or is there a existing plugin which supports 802.11 PSM for NS-3?

Thanks,
Yang

I confirm that 802.11 PSM is currently missing in ns-3. Needless to say, if somebody could contribute a  patch for this, it would be very nice!

I happened to know that there seems to be a PSM patch in NS-2. I am considering port the patch to NS-3, but I don't know if it possible.

Hey Yang,

I am recently trying to do the same thing you mentioned here. Have you done it successfully or not? As I am a newbie to NS, I do not want to learn otcl so I choose NS-3. Seems NS-3 already includes a radio energy model for simulating energy consumptions. I am not sure if it will be a difficult work to implement PSM mechanism by our self. So if you successfully make it into work, pls let me know.

Thanks,

Leo
