Hey, I'm planning to come in to the Hackspace next week sometime to work on my arduino project (a belt that measures your breath depth/rate). Just wondering if anyone else has anything they are hacking on and want to join?

Hi Hari,
I think the group has been pretty quiet in the past year so don't know if anyone is meeting regularly there anymore, that said I'm sure there are plenty of us working on projects so feel free to share here more details

I'm here, but most active on other places, I just lurk here in case something interesting comes up.

Yeah I figured I'd through it out there in case anyone wanted some hacking company!  Didn't quite make it this week but next hopefully. I'll post again if so....

On a related note, I'm working on two hobby projects: one is a "meditation belt" that monitors your breath depth/rate the idea being to entrain you to breath consciously (ie actively, with full lung capacity) continuously. I ordered a sample of stretchy resistive fabric form Hitek. You can see my fine sewing work here: http://air-craft-eu.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/IMG_4884

The other thing I'm interested in making and I'm wondering whether anyone has any tips for the right parts to involve? – A slick, modern yoga/meditation timer - I'd like to remove my dependency on my iphone which i use frequently for yoga sets and multi-part meditations. Insight Timer is (was) a great app and I'd like to recreate it's functionality (nice bell sounds, multi-part timers which can be saved) in a nice piece of tactile, user-friendly hardware with low power consumption. I'm thinking some sort of high-res LCD and some touch-contact buttons, akin to Teenage Engineering's synthesizers. I guess it'd need some storage/memory for the alarm wav files and some sort of above average quality but low profile speaker. Any tips?

Gratefully,
Hari Karam Singh
