Hi all,

I'm trying to make a toy driven by an Arduino-ish chip, it needs to talk to cell phones using bluetooth, and low cost is a major consideration.

I can find an Arduino Pro Mini on aliexpress for about 1.10, and a BLE module for about 2 quid, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend something that would offer both for under 2 quid, just like the ESP8266 offers both arduino-ish functionality and wifi?

Thanks a lot,
E.

It depends on how long you can wait. The ESP32 is due out shortly. It's the successor to the ESP8266, which can be programmed from the Arduino IDE, has Bluetooth as well as WiFi, and should be very cheap.

Regards,

Steve
