Is there any chance I could borrow one of the printers or entreaty someone to print a part for me.
I bought a new Extruder for the Huxley but it needs a different mounting bracket.
Many thanks.

Hello Tim
(Uncle) Alan may be due to hand on a printer but I am sure that either he or Toby would print a file for you if you send it

Anyone able/willing to give a little time tonight to help sort out my Pronterface software. ?
I've installed it but have some issues on Win7.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Can I just remind everyone that one of the printers is ours (Norwich Hackspace) and one of the printers belongs to Create Education and is on loan on the proviso that we help them provide new content on their blog (www.createeducation.co.uk).

I don't know which printer is which (we can decide when we have to send the loan one back) but in the meantime can I point out that the printers are
a) my responsibility
b) uninsured
c) that anyone who has them undertakes to keep them safe and secure and is responsible for any costs or damage that could occur when in their possession
d) that you also make sure that all parts are kept together and the packaging kept intact
e) filament is provided or paid for- up till now we have been using donated filament but we need to start recouping the cost of filament so that we can replace it. Currently this is on a trust basis but I think we need to keep track a bit more with what is where and what is used

Hope that's ok! and will see you all tonight anyway

Unfortunately I'll be on a plane heading for Aberdeen so not going to be there on a Monday for a couple of weeks if you've got some issues and want to run through them then we can arrange something.

Ok. It's just when using the power supply I had I can't get anything back from the printer. (If I change the breaker to USB power that is fine (but that doesn't power the motors) But I looked and its 2-3 amps 19v but in the reprap instructions they used a 19v 6amp power. So I'm wondering if that's the problem. Or a short? Or because I haven't wired in the heat bed? I'm a bit in the dark with electrics.
If I knew for sure that was the problem I'll order up a PSU to suit. But don't want to spend pointlessly when I don't even know that's the problem.
Thanks. Tim

If the firmware is expecting a heated bed you won't get fat without at least the thermistor being wired in.

If you don't have any luck lets take a look together one night.

Fantastic. I'll give them a try. Better than the 2. Something I have. I also spent the princely sum of £1.19 on a thermistor so maybe we can jig something up.

I've had trouble with the cheap glass-thermistor used for the E3D, the tiny wires are so close together I kept getting shorts resulting in silly high temp readings. Which sort did you go for? I've got the stock thermistor going for now, but if it plays up again I'm thinking of going all out for a PT100 - http://e3d-online.com/V6-PT100-Sensor-Kit. They look much better built/designed.

Cool. Sure we'll get there eventually.
Not sure what thermistor mine has. I didn't get a choice so whatever is standard I guess.

They can be tricky as they're so tiny just have to be careful.

A thermocouple would be good enough don't really see the need for a prt sensor :)
