Hello,

It was good to see some of you in the space last night. I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself and commit to joining and coming along to the space...

I'm Steve, and I've just moved to Newcastle from Sheffield. I used to be an architect, and before that I worked in software visualisation.

I now lecture architectural design and history at the university and am particularly fond of Brutalism, so love Newcastle!

I've had an Arduino and Raspberry Pi for a while now, and want to learn how to do something with them and just generally tinker and hack about. Don't have much knowledge in this area, so keen to learn new things, and am looking for a project to engross myself in.

Anyway, look forward to meeting more of you shortly...

(PS I also saw the Raspberry Pi Zero from my friendly supplier Pimoroni (https://shop.pimoroni.com/) who lived a few doors down the road from me in Sheffield. However - they'd sold out by the time I logged on this morning!)

Hi Steve and welcome :)

Look forward to seeing you in the space sometime and giving you inspiration for your next project.  If you fancy getting a taste of how the space works for you, come in on a couple of Wednesdays with a project (if you have one) and work on it in the space. Otherwise, simply come along again and chat to people using Pi's and Arduinos to get the ideas flowing.  Everyone knows Wednesdays can be a bit disruptive and will not mind you making enquiries.

Wednesdays are public open nights so no need to commit to paying a monthly membership at that point.  If you think it is working well, you can then sort out the standing order for membership.

But if you already have your mind made up then that is also fine too. :)

Great to see enthusiasm in a new member :)

The whole "PiMoroni has sold out of Pi Zeroes" thing. Yeah sorry I got the last one (never managed to get a case for it though so you can gloat about that :p)
