Sad to say that I'll be stepping down from hosting 3D Thursday for the foreseeable future. I have a few things that I need to sort out professionally which means that I just can't give it the attention it deserves.

If anybody else would like to step up, then that would be great. However, something to consider...

I've noticed over the last few months 3D thursday hasn't been very well attended. This might be down to me not promoting it vigorously enough, but it has occurred to me that it might also be because 3d printing is maturing into the *tool* that it is… We don't have *Laser cutter Monday* or *Lathe Tuesday*…

Also, maybe the hype bubble that saw the initial flurry of interest in 3d printing is over? People in the space do use 3d printers all the time, but they use them as just another a digital fabrication tool.

It feels like most 3d printing questions emanating from outside of the space could just be answered by makers who attend Open Wednesday. Requests for knowledge relating to the broader field of additive manufacturing or AM specific software are few and far between in my experience. So the general knowledge of the Maker_Space members who use 3d printers would cover 90% of queries IMO. Please let me know if you have a different view point.

Best,

Cay

Trends do move on I guess, but I don't think we should be sad or sorry, we should be pleased it has matured :)

Thanks for the champion effort: you introduced the themed evening, and you have now proverbially let Maker Space's 3D aspect stand on its own two feet.
