https.request very slow (intended or something wrong)?

Hello,

I need to do HTTPS requests in my node.js application.

Unfortunately this is slow as hell.

Chrome Canary: ~52ms

Nodejs (agent: false): ~340ms

Nodejs (agent: default): ~350ms

Nodejs (agent with 10 000 000 max Sockets): ~330ms

Tested with nodejs v0.11.13 (0.10.28 seems a bit slower overall).

Is this a generic problem with nodejs and https or is there something wrong?
