I have some freeware code for node.js that I would really like to learn. However there are no comments in the source.

Is there a tool to trace the code as it is executed? At least that will give me an idea of what is happening inside.

Hi Rayj00!

I don't quite get what you need, maybe you want to use Visual Studio Code, it's a perfect IDE for nodejs, it's written in nodejs :)

It has a integrated debugger that can help you, line after line, analyzing what's happening in your code
