"story" page on front page

Hi,

I am new to Nikola. I would like to make a site that has no blog, only "pages" ("stories"). If I make a "story" page index.html, it shows up at

mysite.url/stories/index.html

but I would like

mysite.url/

to display this automatically. Should I use a redirection?
