NHibernate HiLo Identity Too Slow

I am using NHibernate HILO. I am having a single HILO table with [NextHi, TableName] Columns. Each row has the next hi for each entity.

While debugging and at runtime I see whenevery NHibernate needs new Hi value it takes quite a long time more than 5-6 seconds and some time more than 10 seconds even.

As if it is lock with Transaction or so. Any one has idea how to improve the performance of this HILO,
