Jane and I took a LONG walk around Odiorne this afternoon...along with
half of the State of New Hampshire. The other half was out shopping!
We were pleasantly surprised to find a few birds including a couple of
"nuggets" mixed in.

One highlight was a WILSON'S WARBLER just north of the Science Center
along the shoreline trail. This bird was also seen independently by
Scott Heron and Kyle Wilmarth....they got MUCH better photos than I!
This is my 2nd latest date for this species. My personal latest date was
11/28/10 in New Castle. And last year, Scott Heron found a bird in
Hampton that lingered at least until 11/29; however, I saw it only on
the 23rd. The only later record was a bird seen on the Coastal
Christmas Bird Count on 12/17/83 by Denny Abbott and Peter Vickery.

Another highlight today was a very late BLUE-HEADED VIREO in the
goldenrod and shrubs in the south end of the park near the playground.
This is (by far) my latest date for this species. My previous late date
was 11/3/12. There is just one later record for the State. A bird seen
in Raymond by Terry Bronson on 12/1/08.

Also noteworthy was a RAZORBILL and a THICK-BILLED MURRE both INSIDE of
Little Harbor and seen from Frost Point. That's 3 November sightings of
Thick-billed Murre for me so far this fall....my ONLY November records
for this species.
