Yesterday I escaped to Temple Mountain to avoid the heat, and was pleased to see/hear many birds/songs along the trail. However in keeping with many notes of late, I was surprise to hear/see
Black and white who sang a blackburnian song (though a pitch different)
yellow rump doing an excellent imitation of a blackburnian (and accompanying one)

Later in the afternoon stopped by Cemetery Fields (Amherst) for a brief but very satisfying view of two grasshopper sparrows having a "discussion" on a wire (photos will be coming on flickr' - currently my main computer is in shop), and a purple martin fly by.

This morning before running errands, was able to catch up with the olive sided flycatcher at Yuddicky thanks to information/location from Chris Sheridan. I had missed it twice already and was glad to see it, as well as to hear the familiar buzzy sounds of blue wing warbler on the same grounds.
