Likely Fox Sparrow on Haystack Mtn

While hiking up the Falling Waters Trail on The Franconia Ridge yesterday to survey pipits for this year’s Presidential Range pipit survey, I heard, at about 4000 feet in the upper edge of the boreal forest zone, what sounded very like a singing fox sparrow. Unfortunately I could not see the beast, but I am quite confident that it was indeed a FOSP. Also about were several singing Blackpolls, maybe 10 singing Swainsons thrushes.
