I went over about 1 PM today and found a flock of about 60 at the north end closer to the east side.  The wind picked up and they moved around and ended up in the south cove where it's all private and not good viewing.  I definitely needed my scope.  It seemed a good mix of male and female.  The bright white cheek and dark cap of the male was obvious.  Rufous color noted on some when they lifted up and flapped their wings.  Not too many with their tails up as I imagine them.  They are about the size of a blue winged teal but heavier.
Canada geese and Mallards the only other birds seen.
Drove back on Rt 121 by the reservoir in Auburn and saw nothing.
