Hello group,

I'm looking for some opinions about Persona Communications two cable
internet isp's, Superweb and Cablerocket.
Can anyone recommend either one for me. Is there any real difference
between the two? Like in speed and reliability.

I am considering Superweb. It is a little cheaper per month.
Has anyone here had any experience with either service?

Thanks,
Shannon

We use Superweb at home (I'm in Happy Valley-Goose Bay). We've had the
occasional bout of inaccessibility, but for the most part they are fine.
They are a bit slower at night, but compared with regular dial-up access
they are quite rapid.

I originally went with cablerocket becasue it was the first number i called
and i wanted to sign up right away. The speeds were about same but when i
ran into problems with my modem noone would talk to me. So i transferred to
superweb and they had someone out for a service call right away and were
quite helpful. Plus they are a nf company and the other guys were in bc
somewhere. As far as i know its the same network so the only difference
will be the support and service. I find the crowd in town alot better. just
my 2 cents. I guess everyone has their own story.

Cable Rocket is based out of BC, while Superweb is based right here on the
Rock
I'd rather have my hard earned money stay here, besides that, I think that
Superweb
has a much nicer website http://www.superweb.ca compared with
http://www.cablerocket.com

Just my $0.02 worth

My buddy got SuperWeb in Carbonear and loves it. I wish I had an
alternative here in St. Johns, I can only get Rogers in my neck of the
woods. Although I gotta say that I had a guy come buy last week that was a
nice fella and pretty helpful. Totally contradicted my normal roadrunner
experience.

i have superweb, its not as good as you think, sure its fast but only cause
there are not a lot of people on it per node as compared to rogers or warp.

here is the killer, after you transfer 7gb (upload and download combined)
they slow down your connection to just as slow as dial up which is a real
pain in the ass, this is then reset after the month is over, and the cycle
begins again.

please dont reply by email as this isnt my computer im posting from here
now.

superweb and cablerocket afaik are both docsis and hence are not really
affected by sharing of bandwidth. Thats a real misconception wrt cable.
