Not a whole lot going on at Cape Spear this morning. 2 ganets and a few purple sandpipers.

When I was heading back to town, a ruffed grouse was trying to cross the road (presumably to get to the other side) just past black head rd. She came out from in between two driveways. We gave each other the "deer in the headlights" look and she turned around to scoot back into the woods!

Keep your eyes open for her..... She does not look both ways before crossing:-)

I was at the Cape early morning. There were 3 small rafts of eider ducks. Didn't see any king. There was a flock of abt. 25-30 northern gannets flying north. as Andrea said, there wasn't a lot to see.
I did see and hear a fox sparrow in Blackhead, near the cemetery.
