Quiet at Cape Spear this morning, but still loads of murres flying and on the water, a small number of sooty and great shearwaters and diving gannets. Only two whales. Juvie Savannahs in the grass, still without their tails.
Highlights at Bidgood's Park near the dog park were up-close looks of two juvies: Cedar Waxwing and Blackpoll Warbler. No swallows.
Virginia Lake this evening was pretty active, including some new birds arriving:
6 Greater Yellowlegs
2 Lesser Yellowlegs
4 Green-winged Teal (F)
5 Ring-necked Duck (M)
2 Eurasian Wigeon (F)
3 American Wigeon (F)
2 Common Loon
1 Osprey
2 Common Tern
1 Kingfisher
1 Yellow Warbler
And a single domestic mallard juvie with the dabblers
