Saw three near Blackhead bus shelter with robins, juncos and chickadees. Watched the eider forever at Cape Spear. Close scanning of scattered, large flocks as well as photos showed no adult male King Eider. However, with patience four King Eider did move into the sheltered area below the canons, 2 immature males and 2 females. I wonder how many of them were in the large flocks....
Also present in same area were seven Dovkie. A small flock of Long-tailed Tuck appeared and disappeared off the main lookout. There were about 50 Purple Sandpipers on the rocks below the low lookout.
