MVA/Roll-Over

On 1/15/15 at 5:17p.m., Newton Police responded to Hicks Avenue for a report of a single vehicle accident which resulted in the vehicle becoming overturned.

Subsequent investigation revealed that Alison Pinedo, age 43, was heading southbound on Hicks Avenue when her 2001 Acura TL left the roadway for an undetermined reason and rolled over on its roof.  Pinedo was extricated from her vehicle by the Newton Fire Department and  transported to the Newton Medical Center for further treatment of her injuries which did not appear to be life-threatening.

As a result of the accident, a portion of Hicks Avenue was closed for approximately 1 hour.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
