Police Officers were called to Merriam-Gateway Apartments on Wednesday April 16, 2014 at about 8:30 PM to investigate a report that an unknown actor had tried to kick in a door to an apartment on the fourth floor earlier that day causing damage.  While Officers were conducting an investigation, they located a subject identified as Dustin Henderson, a 27 year old resident of Newton.  A warrant check revealed that he was wanted for a traffic offense that had occurred in Wantage Township with bail set at $450.00.

Officers arrested Henderson, took him to headquarters for processing and then lodged him in the Sussex County Jail.  The investigation involving property damage to the door is ongoing; anyone with information is asked to contact the Newton Police Department.

Investigating/arresting Officers were Ptl. Dan Finkle, Ptl. John Flanagan, Ptl. Mahir Kaylani and S/O Raul Couce.
