On 4/6/17 at 10:44p.m., Newton Police responded to a Union Place residence for a report of a suspected overdose with C.P.R. in progress.

Upon arrival at the scene, patrols observed the 35 year old male to be unconscious, unresponsive and in respiratory distress in a nearby bedroom while displaying physical signs and symptoms that were consistent with a heroin overdose.

As a result, responding patrols administered Naloxone (Narcan) and performed rescue breathing.  Subsequently, he was given oxygen and placed in the recovery position as he regained consciousness.  He was then transported to the Newton Medical Center by Newton First Aid Squad.  Paramedics from St. Clare’s also assisted at scene.

The male subject was also provided information regarding the C.L.E.A.R. program.
