M.V. Stop/Arrest - Possession of CDS, Drug Paraphernalia

On 9/29/15 at 11:54a.m., Ptl. John Flanagan stopped a 2012 Black Chrysler 200 on Mill Street for speeding on Swartswood Road.  During the stop, Ptl. Flanagan detected the odor of Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. 

Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver, Thomas Vazquez, age 23, of Cooke Road Blairstown, NJ had a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe for smoking marijuana inside his vehicle. 

Vazquez was taken into custody, processed and released after being charged with the following offenses/violations:

N.J.S. 2C:35-10a(4)   Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Under 50 grams) (Disorderly Persons)

N.J.S. 2C:36-2          Possession of Drug Paraphernalia   (Disorderly Persons)

39:4-98                     Speeding

39:3-47                     Improper Lighting-Altering Equipment

39:3-74                     View Obstruction

 

 

Case pending a 10/13/15 appearance in Newton Municipal Court.
