Burglary/Theft

On 7/12/15 at 11:17a.m., the Newton Police Department received a report of a burglary and theft to Campbell’s Small Engines at 99 Moran Street. 

Subsequent investigation revealed that sometime between 7/11/15 at 9:30p.m. and 7/12/15 at 10:20a.m., an unknown actor(s) used a blow torch to cut the lock and chain on a fenced-in outside storage area in the rear of the business.

Upon gaining entry, subjects stole several pieces of used landscaping equipment that was there for repair purposes.  The stolen items consisted of (5) chainsaws, (2) weed wackers, (2) cut off saws and (1) backpack blower valued at a combined total of $5, 739.00.

The investigation into the burglary and theft is currently active and anyone with information is asked to contact the Newton Police Department at 973-383-2525.
