On Wednesday March 22, 2017 at about 1:24 PM, Sergeant Michael Monaco observed a vehicle speeding on Main Street (Rt. 206) and then stopped it on Elm Street.  The vehicle was a 2010 Volvo SUV driven by Bailey A. Ressa, a 20-year-old resident of Byram, NJ.  The odor of burned marijuana was detected by Sgt. Monaco upon approach to the vehicle and a subsequent search of it revealed a package of rolling papers and a plastic bag containing marijuana. Ressa was then arrested and brought to police headquarters for processing.

He was charged with Possession of CDS (Marijuana) 2C:35-10a, Possession of Paraphernalia 2C:36-2, Speeding 39:4-98 and Tinted Windows 39:3-77.  He was issued summonses and released pending an appearance in the Newton Municipal Court.
