On Tuesday September 15, 2015 at 2:57 PM, Officers responded to the area of Woodside Avenue and Paterson Avenue intersection for a motor vehicle crash with injuries.  Upon arrival, Officers determined that three vehicles were involved and some of the occupants were injured.

Officers’ investigation revealed that the vehicle, a 2010 Ford Fusion, being driven by a 17 year old female resident of Green Twp. with three juvenile passengers, turned left onto Paterson Avenue and failed to yield the right of way to a northbound Woodside Avenue (Rt. 206) vehicle, a 2004 Volkswagen Passat, being driven by Daniel Frost, a 20 year old resident of Stanhope.  Upon the initial collision, a third vehicle, a 2014 Audi being driven by Richard Peck, a 49 year old of Mendham, travelling southbound on Woodside Avenue (Rt. 206), collided with the vehicle being operated by Frost.

Newton First Aid Squad responded to the scene and transported three occupants of the vehicle being driven by the 17 year old to the Newton Medical Center.  The fourth occupant was also transported to Newton Medical Center and then flown via medevac to Morristown Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

All the involved vehicles were towed from the scene.  Woodside Avenue (Route 206) was closed in the area of the crash for approximately one hour.  The crash remains under investigation by Newton Police Officers, Ptl. Dan Finkle and Sgt. Michael Monaco.
