On 9/6/18 at 1:55p.m., the Newton Police Department received an initial report of a vehicle within the Rite Aid parking lot on Spring Street with an unknown issue with its operator.
Shortly thereafter, Newton Police then received a second report of the vehicle leaving the Rite Aid and driving erratically on Trinity Street.
Subsequently, patrols located and stopped the vehicle in the area of Water and Hamilton Streets. The male operator identified as Michael Tizzano, age 29, of Hemlock Drive, Franklin, N.J. exhibited physical signs of impairment.
As a result, Tizzano was taken into custody. A search incident to arrest resulted in (9) wax folds containing a powdery substance suspected of being heroin being found in his wallet.
After further investigation, Tizzano was charged with the following offenses and lodged in the Sussex County Jail.

39:4-82 Failure to Keep Right

39:4-50 Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under The Influence
