On 10/19/16 at 8:05a.m., Newton Police responded to a Swartswood Road residence for a report of an unconscious male.

Upon arrival at the scene, patrols observed a 57 year old male to be unconscious, unresponsive and in respiratory distress in an upstairs bedroom while displaying signs and symptoms that were consistent with a heroin overdose.

As a result, responding patrols performed a sternal rub, rescue breathing and administered 2 doses of Narcan which subsequently led to the male regaining consciousness.  He was then transported to the Newton Medical Center by Atlantic Ambulance.

Paramedics from Sussex St. Clare's also responded to scene.

Investigating Officers:
Sgt. Michael Monaco, Ptl. Kenneth Teets, Ptl. John Flanagan.
