On 5/31/16 at 10:45p.m., Newton Police responded to Applebee’s Restaurant on North Park Drive for a report of an unresponsive female within the ladies bathroom.
Prior to patrols arrival on scene, another patron located the unresponsive female on the floor and maintained an open airway until the arrival of the patrols.
Once on scene, officers observed the 35 year old female to be unconscious and in respiratory arrest in the bathroom while displaying signs and symptoms that were consistent with a heroin overdose.
As a result, responding patrols administered Narcan which subsequently led to the female regaining consciousness. She was then transported to the Newton Medical Center by Newton First Aid Squad.
