Drug Distribution Investigation Leads to Three Arrests

A cooperative investigation conducted by the Newton Police Department and the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force culminated in the arrest of two local men and one woman.
Working from several tips received through the Newton Police Department’s anonymous Text-a-Tip service [http://www.newtonpolice.org/crimetips.php] regarding drug activity in the area of Pine Street in Newton, an investigation was initiated.
On Wednesday February 1, 2017 at approximately 12:30 pm, Detectives stopped a car that was occupied by Christina Delotto, age 39 of Newton, and Brian Johnson, age 32 of Frankford Twp. Delotto and Johnson were in possession of heroin, packaging supplies and US currency. The two were taken into custody and further investigation was conducted.
Police recovered approximately 150 bags of heroin and nearly $1000 in cash.
Johnson was charged with Distribution of CDS (heroin) NJS 2C:35-5 [3rd Degree Crime] and Delotto was charged with Possession of CDS (heroin) NJS 2C:35-10A [3rd Degree Crime].
The investigation also led to the arrest of John Pierro, age 46 of Newton. He was charged with Distribution of CDS (heroin) NJS 2C:35-5 [3rd Degree Crime].
All parties were served with summons complaints and released pending a court appearance at Sussex County Superior Court.
