On 7/8/16 at 11:08a.m., a representative of Sussex County Social Services contacted the Newton Police Department to report fraudulent activity.


Subsequent investigation revealed that Donald Neubauer, age 48, of Spring Street, Newton had used a client’s E.B.T. (electronic benefit transfer) card belonging to his former roommate and made several unauthorized transactions over the last 8 months totaling approximately $1,861.00.


In addition, an active child support warrant out of Warren County was located for Neubauer.


As a result, Neubauer was arrested and charged with the following offense before being released into the custody of the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.

N.J.S. 2C:20-36a   Fraudulent Use of A Benefit Card  4th Degree (With Value Equal Or Greater Than $150.00.)


Neubauer was served with a complaint summons and is due in Sussex County Superior Court on 8/3/16.
