url viewer for hyperlinks within email?

Is there any way to get the e-mail client to use the default browser
if a hyperlink within a mail message is clicked on? Right now it
appears to launch Mozilla even though IE is the default browser.
Running Windows 2000 in case it matters. Thanks.

Thank you.

I've added the following lines to my prefs.js:

user_pref("network.protocol-handler.external.ftp", true);
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.external.http", true);

It more or less does what I want it to do although it still spawns a
Mozilla window in addition to the IE one.
